This module should be added after the Setup Windows and Configuration Manager step in the computer has completed its final Windows installation based reboot and the Configuration Manager client has been installed.
Individual Steps
Enabling BranchCache
This step runs the 2Pint BCTuner Main script which enables and optimizes BranchCache. It is recommended that you review the Description section of the script which is posted below.
Options
This group /step will run if the following conditions are met:
Task Sequence Variable: StifleRAgentId not exists
Note: This step will not run if the StifleR Client is installed. The reason for this is because the StifleR Client itself is responsible for managing BranchCache settings, so the BC Tuner script does not need to run.
BCTuner Main Script
Configuring BranchCache Cache
This step runs the 2Pint BCTuner Cache Size script which sets the BranchCache cache size based on the amount of free space on the disk. It is recommended that you review the Description section of the script which is posted below. As mentioned in the script description, the script is somewhat conservative in sizing the BC cache, so tweak as needed.
Options
This group /step will run if the following conditions are met:
Task Sequence Variable: StifleRAgentId not exists
BCTuner Cache Size Script
Increasing BITS Event Log
This step sets the BITS maximum log size to 10MB.
Increase BITS Event Log Size Script
Installing StifleR
This step is disabled by default because it requires you to define a StifleR Client Package and Program. For more information on why a Package and Program is recommended here rather than an Application, please see this link. Remember to deselect the Disable this step checkbox on the “Options” tab.
