# Windows bare metal from cloud

The "Windows bare metal from cloud" template is similar in many ways to the "[Windows bare metal](https://documentation.2pintsoftware.com/deployr/reference/task-sequence-templates/windows-bare-metal)" template.  The main difference is that it will automatically download the selected operating system from Windows update, and it will download the needed driver packs directly from the OEM.

After creating a task sequence from this template, edit the [Apply OS from cloud](https://documentation.2pintsoftware.com/deployr/reference/step-definitions/apply-operating-system-from-cloud) step to specify the operating system version, edition, language, and architecture that you want to deploy.  Also consider adding either an [**Offline domain join**](https://documentation.2pintsoftware.com/deployr/reference/step-definitions/offline-domain-join) step or an [Enable administrator account](https://documentation.2pintsoftware.com/deployr/reference/step-definitions/enable-administrator-account) step so that you can log into the new operating system.
