# Autopilot from cloud

The "Autopilot from cloud" template is similar in many ways to the "[Windows bare metal from cloud](/deployr/1.2/reference/task-sequence-templates/windows-bare-metal-from-cloud.md)" template, with one main difference: the task sequence completes in Windows PE. After the task sequence completes, the device will reboot into the Windows out-of-box experience (OOBE) so that the user can go through the Autopilot provisioning process.

After creating a task sequence from this template, edit the [Apply OS from cloud](/deployr/1.2/reference/step-definitions/apply-operating-system-from-cloud.md) step to specify the operating system version, edition, language, and architecture that you want to deploy.

If you need to install applications or make other customizations to the new operating system, consider using the "[Autopilot pre-provisioning](/deployr/1.2/reference/task-sequence-templates/autopilot-pre-provisioning.md)" template instead.
